Elizabeth Bean Birth doula

Welcome! I’m Elizabeth Bean, the doula behind EB Doula. My journey to becoming a birth doula began during my first pregnancy. I became fascinated by pregnancy and childbirth, and by the amazing things the human body is capable of. My daughter was born in a birth center, where I was attended by a midwife. I was privileged to be able to labor in many different positions, using a variety of comfort techniques. I absolutely loved my birth experience, and began reading anything I could get my hands on to learn more about the process.

Years later, after I had had another daughter, my sister-in-law was in labor in another state. I kept pestering my brother with text messages about her progress and the steps the providers were taking. My mom casually told me that if I was so interested in birth, I should look into becoming a birth worker. Something clicked in my mind, and I immediately started researching how to become a birth doula.

Pregnancy and birth are passions, and I feel strongly that birthers can have – and DESERVE to have – an amazing birth experience. I believe in bodily autonomy, few interventions, and birth as a normal physiological process. I’m committed to making sure my clients have the birth they want, whatever that looks like.

I trained and am certified through DONA International. I’ve lived in Colorado since 2010, and in my spare time, I love to read, be outdoors (as long as it’s not too hot!), cook, make wreaths, work on home improvement projects with my husband, and play with my two daughters.
